A Call For Three Days of Prayer and Fasting

Bishop Serapion, the Coptic Orthodox Bishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles, Southern California, and Hawaii has called for "Three Days of Prayer and Fasting " starting October 31 to November 2nd, 2005. The letter says :

As we follow the hardship, which the Church in Egypt is facing these days, we lift up our hearts to our Lord, Who told us, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28) With complete faith and trust in God’s promises, we place all our troubles in His Hand with confidence, knowing that He alone is capable of saving and protecting all His children and preserve the peace of His Church

Prayer and fasting is a good thing, but it's not enough. what are we waiting for? for them to kill the Pope! for God sake be proactive and start putting pressure on the Egyptian government to give us back our rights

Why can't His Grace lead us in prayer in front of the Egyptian Consulate in LA? Only then the world might start to know what our brothers and sisters in Egypt are going through

When the Romans used to govern Egypt we Copts rejected them and preferred the Muslims to control us by handing the keys of the city to them. Now we are drinking out of that cup. Who is to blame?

We need praying, because prayer is important. But we need that the Copt pope goes to UN and explain the situation without dhirmitude.

Copts, you need to vote and make your interest known.

The best thing we can go is to help make Egypt a working democracy. The election is coming soon, so get out and go voting. Tell your friends and relative to vote. We are the LARGEST minority in Egypt and this is your country as it is for your Muslim fellows and friends. Even some of the most radical Muslims are trying to say that Copts are supporting them( Montasser al-Zayat, a former militant from Egypt's bloodiest Islamist group and ex-prison mate of Al-Qaeda's current eminence grise, is taking his battle against the regime to the ballot box.).

If you don’t vote, then expect your this guy to say the following; ‘But Copts should stop asking for minority rights and to build more churches than they need. They are full-fledged partners in the state," he added in the same breath’

Remember it is YOUR responsibility to vote. If you don’t exercise your rights, then don’t run for help. Help yourself and VOTE.
