Rights groups demand the immediate release of Ayman Nour

Fourteen Egyptian human rights groups have urged the government to release detained -Egyptian- presidential election runner-up Ayman Nour, who is in a prison hospital after starting a hunger strike .

Nour's al-Ghad Party issued a statement on Tuesday signed by 14 groups including the Egyptian Organisation for Human Rights that said Nour's trial had "become a means to oppress him and punish him for his political views".

This is our chance to show support for someone who stood against corruption. I believe that most Copts are behind someone like Mr. Nour. Let us learn from the victory of the African American regarding prejudice. If it was not for the support of the white population, their struggle would have lingered much longer.
An open minded Muslim (and there are millions of them in Egypt) is an agent of progress and freedom. Let us encourage our Muslims brothers and sisters to participate with us in bringing hope and better future to All Egyptians. We are the free Children of the one mighty God, let us get ourselves from the slave mentality and walk with hope and love. Let us build a better Egypt for every one.
A better Egypt creates free Egyptians, and that is good for every one.

VERY well said! No doubt there are millions of open minded Egyptians who are just as fed up as the Copts and are struggling for the same things. Copts should join hands with all those to counter the fanatical backwardness of Islamists...
