A Group of Muslims Apologize For Cartoon Violence.
A group claiming to be consisted of "Arab and Muslim youth" published an apology for the acts of violence that erupted recently following the publication of the Danish cartoons. The names and locations of the members of the group were not mentioned.
Under pictures of the Danish and Norwegian flags, and the title "WE ARE SORRY", a detailed statement, which can be read in English, Danish, and Norwegian, says "We whole-heartedly apologize to the people of Denmark, Norway and all the European Union over the actions of a few, and we completely condemn all forms of vandalism and incitement to violence that the Arab and Muslim world have witnessed". The group blames the Media which, according to them,"only picks up the loudest voices, ignoring the rational ones that do not generate as much noise"
While the group declares that they" deplore the use of violence in all its forms, as well as threats of violence and derogatory and racist remarks being thrown in the opposite direction", there was no mention of deploring the open discrimination, acts of violence, and mistreatment directed at the native Christians in the Arab and Moslem countries, in their everyday lives.
